I am continuing my week-long series of RED, WHITE and BLUE blogs - in honor of the 4th of July. There are a LOT of articles and blogs out there about using these colors as a base for home decorations and the results are beautiful year-round.
This journey has also allowed me to get nostalgic about my many years of selling heirloom-quality refurbished upholstered furniture through Wydeven Designs (
link to website). I am going through my photo archives to focus on previous-year furniture reflecting this color combination. I have posted 2007, 2008, and 2009 photos - today I have some from 2010 (my prior years 2004-2006) are less accessible from my current computer file).
These colors [red, white and blue] are considered to be America's colors,
the colors of freedom and independence in our nation, since they are the shades
represented on the American flag. From throw pillows to candles, it is very
easy to step into a home decor store of any class and find items in these great
standard colors with just a bit of imagination and creativity. source
One of my favorite real and virtual magazines is Elle Decor -
link to article about red, white and blue decorating. They have a photo-spread of great rooms by well-known designers that are very livable and usable all year-round!
