Travel to Ireland with my Husband - 2010 |
In honor of St. Patrick's Day, I am nostalgic for Ireland and our wonderful visit there in 2010. We were traveling to join four other couples at a house in the Cotswold area of England and decided to add an Irish visit to the trip. My husband is of mostly Irish descent but we had never visited before. We arrived in Dublin on the front-end of the trip and spent three days at a Bed and Breakfast exploring the city - either by foot or public transportation. Dublin is a very pedestrian friendly and there are buses throughout the day and into the wee hours of the night available for very little money. We even took a bus home from a late evening production of Macbeth.
On the back end of our trip, we flew to Cork and drove from there to the Dingle Peninsula and other lovely locations. We had heard of the cool and wet weather we should expect but had glorious days and warm nights. I have at least a 1000 photos that look like postcards.
Here's to the Irish and a happy St. Patrick's Day!!
